Assiniboine Park Zoo provides visitors with the opportunity to interact with animal species from all corners of the globe. This section highlights some of our current and future exhibits. HUB Horizon Insurance Penguin Cove - NOW OPEN!

For the first time in its history, the Assiniboine Park Zoo is home to penguins. The HUB Horizon Insurance Penguin Cove is open at the Zoo for a limited time throughout spring and summer 2013.

Australian Walkabout - NOW OPEN!

Take a walk on the wild side. Enter this exhibit and have a close encounter of the furry and feathered kind with two of Australia's most iconic animal species, the red kangaroo and the emu.

Hudson the Polar Bear

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is thrilled to welcome Hudson, a 15-month-old polar bear from the Toronto Zoo. Hudson is the first polar bear to make his temporary home in the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre.

International Polar Bear Conservation Centre (IPBCC)

When you visit the Zoo, be sure to stop by the interactive visitor interpretive centre located within the IPBCC to learn about polar bears, the Arctic ecosystem, climate change, and what you can do to reduce your impact on our environment.

Toucan Ridge

Toucan Ridge, a vibrant exploration of animal, bird and plant life of the new world tropics of Central and South America, opened in April 2011.

Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden

From late spring to early fall, visitors to the Assiniboine Park Zoo can enter the magical world of butterflies at the Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden.

Journey to Churchill - COMING IN 2014

Scheduled to open in 2014, Journey to Churchill will set a new international standard for polar bear exhibits and be a world class attraction for the province.

Kinsmen Discovery Centre

Climb inside a dinosaur egg or stick your head inside a bubble-shaped aquarium window. The Kinsmen Discovery Centre is a fantastic exhibit where children can really get in touch with nature!
