As a non-profit, charitable organization, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations and community groups to make our work in education, conservation, research and recreation possible here at the Assiniboine Park and Assiniboine Park Zoo.
Our policies regarding privacy, gift acceptance and recognition have been prepared to protect the interests of our donors and to garner the public’s trust, while ensuring the ongoing financial viability of Assiniboine Park and its amenities and protecting the Park’s cherished character for the benefit of all citizens.
We respect our donors and their right to privacy. Our donor records are confidential. We do not share our lists. For those who choose to remain anonymous, that wish will be respected.
As a registered charity, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy is obliged to record and acknowledge all gifts received in compliance with the Canada Revenue Agency Income Tax Act.
The opportunity to name a building, wing, room, or area is important to some donors when making their giving decisions. The Assiniboine Park Conservancy seeks to provide recognition that is commensurate with donors’ philanthropic giving levels and is tailored to meet their needs.
Donor Bill of Rights
Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we conduct ourselves and our activities in accordance with the Donor Bill of Rights.
